Most research evidence supporting the care of patients with endocrine conditions stems from low quality evidence. This is the type of evidence where a clinician may not reliably estimate how the available options impact the issues that matter to each patient. In addition, even when the evidence is reliable and complete what is best for a patient depends on what each patient values, and on the reasons he or she has to value the alternatives. Alongside, efforts to improve the quality of evidence are negligible or not oriented to issues that matter most to patient with a particular endocrine condition.
KER-Endo investigators are endocrinologists with vast experience in Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) that work to overcome evidence and preference uncertainties by producing higher quality evidence that support patient centered endocrinology.
